Use case ยท Loyalty cards
Your loyalty cards, always in your pocket.
A loyalty card app stores the barcode of each supermarket card on your phone, so you can show it at the checkout without carrying the plastic. In Paniere you scan each card once with the camera, give it a name and a colour, and from then on it sits next to your shopping list. The phone you use for the list is the same one you hand over at the till.

Why do loyalty cards get lost or forgotten?
A wallet full of plastic
Every chain has its own card, and after a few years the wallet holds more loyalty cards than bank cards. The one you need is always at the bottom.
Left in the other bag
You change bag or jacket and the card stays at home. At the till you lose the points, or the discount on the product you came for.
Lost, and the points with it
A card that falls out of the wallet takes its number with it. Getting a new one means going to the customer desk, often with the points to recover.
How does Paniere keep your loyalty cards?
Scan once with the camera
Frame the barcode on the card and Paniere reads the number. If the card is worn, you can type the number by hand.
Barcode or QR code
Paniere draws the code again on screen, as a classic barcode or as a QR code, ready for the checkout scanner.
A name and a colour
Give each card the name of the shop and a colour, so you recognise it in the list at a glance.
Only yours, saved in your account
Your cards are visible only to you, not to the members of your lists. They are saved in your account, so you find them again on a new iPhone.
How do you add a loyalty card to your iPhone?
- 01
Open Cards in Paniere
In the tab bar, tap Cards and then Add card.
- 02
Scan the card
Keep the barcode inside the frame: Paniere reads it, then you check the number, choose a name and a colour.
- 03
Show it at the checkout
At the till open the card: the code is on screen, ready to be scanned.
Frequently asked questions
Does every supermarket accept the code on the phone?
+
Most loyalty cards use a standard barcode (such as EAN-13 or Code 128) or a QR code, and checkout scanners read them from a phone screen. A few formats cannot be redrawn: in that case Paniere shows the card number, which the cashier can type in.
Can my family see my loyalty cards?
+
No. Loyalty cards in Paniere belong to your account only. Shared lists stay shared, cards stay private.
What happens if I change iPhone?
+
Your cards are saved in your Paniere account. Sign in with Apple on the new phone and they are there.
Is the feature free?
+
Yes. Paniere is free, without in-app purchases, loyalty cards included. The feature is new and still being improved, so feedback from inside the app is welcome.
